The Bremont Hawking Limited Edition collection is a completely exclusive timepiece collection to commemorate the life of the remarkable Professor Stephen Hawking. Bremont is very proud to have worked closely with the Hawking family to create something very special and unique.
The classically styled Bremont Hawking White Gold Limited Edition features a matte blue/black dial with polished applied indexes, 'black hole' spiral etching, a retrograde seconds hand and grande date. Limited to just 88 pieces; the number referencing the year in which Hawking's "Brief History of Time" was published, 1988.
This exquisite chronometer features a highly polished 41mm sized casing which when turned over reveals a world of decorative detail. A stainless steel plate coated with black PVD and enamel contains some meteorite to symbolise the cosmos, as well as an etching of stars from the night sky in Oxford, on 8th January 1942, the date that Hawking was born. The four wooden discs that surround this meteorical disc, are taken from the desk at which Hawking contemplated the mysteries of the universe.
Completing the wondrous caseback is the watches serial number which has been laser engraved on paper of the original copies of a 1979 seminal research paper commonly referred to as “The ‘nuts’ and ‘bolts’ of gravity”. Housed within is the unique BE-33AE movement, with 42-hour power reserve.
