All that glitters isn't purely gold at the 77th Golden Globes

OUR TOP JEWELLERY PICKS OF THE NIGHT

January starts in style in Hollywood (we’d expect no less of course) with the Golden Globes kicking off the award season in fine fashion. Sunday 5th January was the 77th celebration of film and television, dished out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

And as prestigious as the awards are, with this year’s winners including Brad Pitt, Renee Zellweger, Olivia Colman, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it’s the dresses, suits, and jewels that are what we really come to see! Starting a new year and decade with plenty of maximal jewellery, layered earrings, and statement necklaces - here are some of our top picks from the night …

WHITE DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

White diamonds were definitely high on the list - giving a more traditional look for many celebs, including Salma Hayek Pinault. Stunning in Chopard, setting off her teal lace Gucci gown, Salma wowed in Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection offset with a ring from Chopard’s Temptations Collection.

CLASSIC BLUE

Carrying the theme of ‘Classic Blue’ as Pantone Colour of the Year, beautiful blue sapphires definitely dominated. Glenn Close wore Cartier, including a pair of stunning earrings set in platinum, to accompany her deep blue velvet tuxedo gown by Armani Privé.

Big Little Lies star, Shailene Woodley also got the blue memo and stunned with Bulgari sapphires and a Serpenti bracelet to accompany her Balmain gown.

GREEN GODDESS

Jennifer Lopez looked incredible, as always, in Valentino couture and teamed her golden and green gown with a Grecian-style updo and dazzling Harry Winston emeralds and diamonds. It was definitely the night for Harry Winston with other celebs such as Zoey Deutch, Helen Mirren, and Rachel Weisz also wearing this diamond-centric high jewellery brand.

DRESS TO EXCESS

We've saved the best till last with Cynthia Erivo really setting the bar (stud earrings) high in her custom Thom Browne gown. Accompanied by a $3-million Bulgari necklace and some serious ear candy, featuring multiple cuffs, plenty of diamonds, huggie hoops, and bar studs (our most favourite look of the night!).

Get the look with Ora collection such as these 18ct yellow gold diamond hoop earrings and 18ct halo white gold studs.

It was certainly a night for excess where fashion and jewellery were concerned and a night where diamonds, sapphires and stunning statement pieces were the clear winner!
